Real Time Clocks (Rtc Modules)
Real Time Clocks (RTC) are present in all aspects of modern life. They keep an accurate measure of the time and date right down to the second.
In order to maintain their highly accurate and succinct timekeeping and ultra low power consumption, RTCs use quartz tuning fork crystal oscillators to operate keeping track of time using very little battery current even when the equipment is turned off.
To help our clients build accurate and complete digital products and internal systems we offer a wide range of quality RTC modules. All of our RTC products are ultra low power and have been chosen for their combination of highly competitive commercial pricing and wide range of specifications.

What actually is a real time clock?
An RTC is essentially a digital clock that is found on computerised systems such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, personal computers and really any electronic device that requires accurate time keeping.
One of the main benefits of RTCs is that they can continue to operate even when the device is powered off. Some RTC modules are powered by an alternate source, such as lithium batteries on or rechargable batteries or supercapacitors.
In most consumer-grade motherboards, the RTC is powered by a single battery, which, if removed, will reset the RTC back to its starting point.
RTC modules contain the clock IC and the tuning fork crystal to provide a self-contained time keeping function.
